Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is annually celebrated by the province of Ilocos Sur for being a separated province and its being rich in traditions, cultures, crafts, delicacies, and arts. The festival is held in the Heritage City of Vigan every 28th day of January to 17th of February. A Eucharistic Mass was held at St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral as an opening of the celebration last January 28 where government officials, public workers, members of NGO's attended. Ilocanos gathered afterwards as a procession of patron saints, as a sign of their religious faith to them. January 29, the festival formally starts at Tamag grounds, Vigan. Exhibits, trade and food fairs are found in the grounds. An ethnic dance from San Emilio National High School which called, "Tadek" was performed.
