CHANGE. TRANSCEND. IMPROVEMENT. GROWTH.

Our country,Philippines is currently facing a lot of economic problems such as poverty, improper waste disposal, basic education facilities and materials, malnutrition, crimes and over consumption of illegal drugs and marijuana. Many laws, bills, and ordinances are being implemented by the government officials to solve the problems mentioned above. But the main question is, "Why does the country still facing so much problems if we have laws implemented to lessen or possibly avoid or stop it?"

 Discipline. It always should start within yourself until it overflows to other people surrounding you. In order to make a change, you should start changing yourself for the better and start to help in changing the society for its betterment. We cannot change the world if we cannot start the change for ourselves. We should learn that everything starts within us. We should lead ourselves in making and being the change.

 Comfort zone. We should not stay in our comfort zone. We should step out from our shell and be aware that our society needs us. We should all transcend. We should rise beyond our limits. Even the youths can do better or more than in our own little ways. Our ideas can transcend and can help for the betterment of our society!
Building blocks. Youths are the building blocks for the improvement of the society. Our actions can make the society better. Our knowledge can increase the excellence of this country and be open-minded on what can we contribute for the change. Improve something for the society for the benefit of the crowd.
 
Development. Our country needs growth and development. We should develop our creative minds on how can we help in the growth our country. We should use the wisdom given by God to help in the growth of the society.

As a student leader, every act counts. Every effort has worth and every head has an idea to share for the betterment of the society. I. Now. Act today, the change will be gained. Eliminate the hindrances, step out from our comfort zone and be creative.  Be a catalyst of change. I am Now! Change, transcend, improvement and growth!

KANNAWIDAN: A Glimpse of Old and New Ilocano Culture

Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is annually celebrated by the province of Ilocos Sur for being a separated province and its being rich in traditions, cultures, crafts, delicacies, and arts. The festival is held in the Heritage City of Vigan every 28th day of January to 17th of February. A Eucharistic Mass was held at St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral as an opening of the celebration last January 28 where government officials, public workers, members of NGO's attended. Ilocanos gathered afterwards as a procession of patron saints, as a sign of their religious faith to them. January 29, the festival formally starts at Tamag grounds, Vigan. Exhibits, trade and food fairs are found in the grounds. Ang wika ay regalo ng Diyos sa bawat tao upang magkaroon ng bukas na kominikasyon tungo sa pagkakaisa. Bawat bansa sa mundong ating ginagalawan ay may kani-kanilang wika na siyang ginagamit sa pakikipagtalastasan. Ang Pilipinas ay may sariling wikang Filipino.
