Children's Worth

“Don’t wait for tomorrow, don’t wait for the future to be a leader, you can start it now.”
                                                                                                            -Councilor Joy Benette Orio
I thought this year’s Children’s Month Celebration will be just an ordinary month for me like how I celebrated it for the past years, but this year is different. I have given the privilege to join to some activities in the celebration. A Eucharistic Mass was held in Vigan Convention Center last November 19, 2018 as the opening program of the celebration where SSG, Club Officers and some children attended the said activity.

As the president of the Mathematics Club, I am too eager to participate in any activities which can enhance my leadership skills and also, to make new friends. I was too happy when the SSG president of our school mentioned to me that there will be a leadership camp for the officers from our school together with the student leaders from the others schools in Vigan City. This year’s Youth Leadership Assemblage last November 23- 25, 2018 at the Fil- Spanish Park Mira Hills was held wherein student leaders, BSP, GSP and the SK officials in Vigan City were invited. Six Lectures was held in the camp that truly enhanced my leadership skills, and taught me to be a responsible millennial here in our society.

This year’s Children’s Month Celebration with the theme: “Isulong: Tamang Pag-aaruga Para sa Lahat ng Bata” talks about the proper handling to children especially we are in generation wherein children are prone to experience stress, depression and other mental health issues. We should remember the joy that children have brought to us, not only because today is their month but rather we should make them feel that they are worthy, they are important and most of all they are loved. We should take care the children that God has sent to bring us joy and have time as much as how we took care of them when they are still young. National Children’s Month is annually celebrated to commemorate the exceptional joy that children have given to us, and their roles here in our society. We should give importance to the children who are the hope of the future. Let’s celebrate the roles of the children’s here in our society!

  1. I was with you when you joined the Eucharistic mass. I'm glad you learned something. Please keep that and act it. Nice article. Another lesson for me.
